Amber Field

Director of Software Development at Singlewire Software

Amber Field joined Singlewire in 2017 to initially develop their project management practice. She now directs the Project Management, DevOps, and Development teams and is responsible for many of Singlewire's enterprise-level, scaling, and growth initiatives.

Amber has nearly 15 years of experience in the software industry. She spent her early career as a software engineer for IBM, which included a stint in Tanzania helping seven Maasai tribes lift themselves out of poverty. She became a Project Manager for National Geographic, fell in love with the agile methodologies, and transitioned the entire organization to agile software development, before leaving to lead a team of program managers at Opower (acquired by Oracle in 2016), a company focused on using behavioral science to help people save energy. Amber's most recent position was as Head of Operations for Capitol One's Innovation Lab. Amber is passionate about agile software development, women in tech, travel, and mentoring.

Amber has a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science & Spanish from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She regularly speaks at meet-ups and conferences about agile software development and has been a guest lecturer at Harvard Business School. Outside of work, you might find Amber in a kayak, the boxing gym, with her daughters, or on top of a mountain with extremely muddy shoes.
