James Maitland

James Maitland has a strong background in operations and leadership roles within the finance and currency exchange industry. James is currently serving as the Chief Operating Officer at Smart Currency Exchange since April 2023. Prior to that, they worked at Alpha FX Group plc, where they held the positions of Operations Director and Head of Operations from January 2020 to March 2023. From March 2018 to January 2020, they served as the Director of Operations, Northern Hemisphere at XE.com. Before that, they held various roles at HiFX, including Director of Operations, Northern Hemisphere, Vice President Operations - North America, Project Manager, Corporate Brokerage / FX Trader, Operations Project Manager, Operations Manager, and Reservations Manager. James'sextensive work experience showcases their expertise in managing operations, implementing risk management practices, and leading teams.

James Maitland began their education in 1996 at Stonyhurst College and completed their secondary education there in 2001. James later attended Royal Holloway, University of London from 2002 to 2005, where they earned a BA Hons degree in Geography. In 2009, they pursued a diploma in Technical Analysis from The Society of Technical Analysts, which they completed in 2010. Additionally, in 2012, they obtained a certification in Project Management from The Association for Project Management.
