Ian Wilson

Ian Wilson has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Ian started their career at DataScope Ltd in 2009, where they worked as a Software Engineer. During their time there, they gained expertise in SQL Query, Procedure creation, Database management, and manipulation. Ian also had experience in server-side control of database creation, web applications, and creating new client-facing software.

In 2012, Ian joined GB Group as a Senior Developer. Ian had a wide range of responsibilities, including working with various technologies such as .NET (ASP/ADO/WCF/LINQ, etc), C# + VB, .netcore, Angular, Docker, Containerization, Java, MS SQL Server, MySQL, Nhibernate, Entity Framework, and Azure. Ian also had experience with SSIS, SSRS, Oracle, MS Windows Server, IIS, NodeJS, Linux, Apache Tomcat, HTML/CSS, JavaScript/JQuery/Typescript, and Android development in Java and Monodroid. Additionally, they were skilled in Powershell and Bash scripting.

After their tenure at GB Group, Ian worked at First Advantage in 2021, initially as a Senior Software Developer and later as a Development Team Lead. Ian then moved on to Health Shield Friendly Society Ltd, where they served as a Lead Software Developer from November 2021 to April 2022.

Currently, Ian is employed at Smoothwall as a Senior Software Engineer since April 2022. Ian is expected to continue in this role in the future.

Ian Wilson graduated from the University of Chester in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Computer Science. During their time at the university, they specialized in the field of Computer Science. Additionally, Ian has obtained a certification in "OWASP Top 10 Web Application Security Risks for ASP.NET" from Pluralsight, although the specific time of completion is not provided.
