Bruce Chung

EVP & CFO at NRG Energy

Bruce is Senior Vice President, Strategy and M&A and NRG Services. In his role as head of Strategy and M&A, Bruce leads NRG's activities related to corporate strategy, mergers and acquisitions, strategic alliances, and strategic investments. Bruce and his team work closely with all of NRG's businesses to assist them in executing their respective strategic plans in a manner which is consistent with NRG's overall corporate strategy. In his role leading the Services division, Bruce and his team focus on realizing the growth potential of various businesses outside of NRG’s traditional power and gas businesses.

Prior to rejoining NRG in 2016, Bruce served as a Managing Director at Energy Impact Partners, a private equity firm focused on energy technology investments. In his first stint at the company, Bruce served in a number of different capacities focused on large-scale project and new business development. Prior to NRG, Bruce served as a Director in the investment banking division of Citigroup and its predecessor firms providing capital markets advisory and M&A services to a number of regulated and unregulated power companies. During his banking career, Bruce worked on a number of large capital markets and M&A transactions, including multiple assignments for NRG.

Bruce holds a Bachelor's degree in history from Columbia University.
