Desmond Takawira

Desmond Takawira has a diverse range of work experience spanning over 25 years. Desmond most recently held the position of Chief Technology Officer at Steward Bank in 2020. Prior to that, they served as the ICT Executive at AgriBank from 2015 to 2020. Desmond also worked as the Managing Consultant at Niveau Consulting P/L from 2014 to 2015. Before that, they held the role of GM - ICT, Research & Projects at The Tetrad Group from 2012 to 2014. Additionally, they worked as an Associate Advisor at KPMG from 2010 to 2012, and as the Head, Projects & Risk Management at RBZ from 2006 to 2010. Desmond's early career includes the role of Head Direct Banking at NMB Bank from 1996 to 2006.

Desmond Takawira completed their Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) degree in Computer Science from the National University of Science and Technology (ZW) in the years 1992 to 1995. Desmond then pursued a CDipAF (Certificate in the Application of Accounting Knowledge) from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales from 1996 to 1997. Later, Desmond enrolled at Nottingham University from 1997 to 1999, where they obtained their Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a specialization in Strategic Management. Additionally, they have acquired certifications in Coaching and Developing Employees, Influencing Others, and Negotiating Your Leadership Success from LinkedIn, which were obtained in March 2021.
