Julie Slawson J.d., Ll.m

Julie Slawson, J.D., LL.M has extensive work experience in the field of state and local tax. Julie is currently a Director of State and Local Tax at Tanner LLC, a position they have held since 2023. Prior to this, they worked as a State and Local Tax Senior Manager at Clark Nuber PS from 2022 to 2022. Julie also served as a State and Local Tax Manager at Amazon from 2012 to 2022. Before joining Amazon, they were a State and Local Tax Senior Associate at Ernst & Young from 2009 to 2012. Julie began their career as a State and Local Tax Associate at KPMG from 2008 to 2009. Julie also has experience working in the public sector, having served as a Rule 9 Prosecutor at the City of Federal Way from 2005 to 2006. Julie has also worked as a Legal Assistant at the King County Prosecutors Office and Gordon, Thomas & Honeywell. Julie holds a J.D. and LL.M and has been involved in various legal and tax-related roles throughout their career.

Julie Slawson, J.D., LL.M, holds a Juris Doctorate from Seattle University School of Law, which they obtained from 2003 to 2006. Julie also earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, with a minor in Society and Justice, from the University of Washington between 1999 and 2001. Julie further pursued their education by obtaining an LL.M. in Taxation from the University of Washington School of Law, completing the program in 2007. Julie is also a certified lawyer under the Washington State Bar Association, a certification they received in June 2007.
