Janie Payne

Janie Payne has extensive work experience in human resources and administration. Janie is currently serving as the Vice President of People and Culture at The Council for Professional Recognition, where they are responsible for developing and executing initiatives to strategically manage talent and culture. Prior to this, they held the position of Vice President of Administration at Equal Justice Works, where they led various departments and implemented strategies to attract diverse talent and create an inclusive workplace environment. Janie has also held executive positions at Global Communities, the Department of Energy, the Department of Housing and Urban Development, the Department of Justice, and the Department of Homeland Security. Additionally, they have experience working at Verizon, where they served as a Strategic Human Resources Business Partner.

Janie Payne has a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Organization Development from American University. Janie also completed the Human Resources Executive Program at the University of Michigan - Stephen M. Ross School of Business. In addition, they hold a degree in Human Relations from Trinity Washington University.

Janie has obtained several certifications, including the Maryland Equity and Inclusion Leadership Program from the Maryland Commission on Civil Rights in December 2019.
