Ryan Gallagher

Ryan Gallagher has a diverse work experience in the field of data science and research. Ryan is currently working as a Staff Data Scientist at Alethea since June 2023, where they previously held the position of Data Scientist starting from January 2023. Prior to that, they worked at Twitter as an Applied Sciences Data Scientist from September 2022 to November 2022, and also served as an Engineering Intern from May 2022 to August 2022.

Ryan also has research experience as a Research Assistant at Northeastern University from September 2017 to August 2022, where they focused on studying online voice amplification, hashtag activism, polarization, and misinformation. During this time, they extensively used Python and various data science libraries for social media data analysis.

Ryan has also served as a Core Data Science Intern at Facebook in September 2019. Before that, they worked as a Visiting Research Assistant at Information Sciences Institute from June 2016 to August 2017, and as a Research Assistant at University of Vermont Complex Systems and Data Science from August 2015 to August 2017.

Ryan's previous experience also includes working as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at University of Vermont from August 2015 to May 2017. Ryan has also worked at University of Connecticut as a UConn Connects Master Coach from January 2015 to May 2015, and as a UConn Connects Facilitator from August 2014 to January 2015.

Additionally, Ryan has worked as a Research Fellow at North Carolina State University from May 2014 to July 2014, and as a Student-Athlete Tutor at University of Connecticut from August 2012 to January 2014.

Ryan Gallagher received their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Mathematics from the University of Connecticut from 2011 to 2015. Ryan then pursued further education and completed their Master's Degree in Mathematics at the University of Vermont from 2015 to 2017. Currently, Ryan is pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Network Science at Northeastern University, starting in 2017 and expected to graduate in 2022.
