Shannon Ceballos

Precision Fermentation Scientist at TurtleTree

Shannon Ceballos has a long history of work experience. Shannon started out as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at UC Davis in 2003, followed by a PhD Researcher at UC Davis in 2005. In 2010, they became an Adjunct Professor at American River College. In 2012, they were a Summer Designated Emphasis in Biotechnology Intern at Novozymes, and in 2013 they were a Temporary Employee at Novozymes, working on a short term yeast project, as well as a ChemTag Supervisor Working for EH&S, Lab Manager/Department Safety Coordinator, and Post Doctoral Researcher at the University of California, Davis. In 2014, they became a CPR Instructor at Heartbeat CPR, and in 2020 they were a Safety and Occupational Health Specialist at the USDA. Shannon is currently a Precision Fermentation Scientist at TurtleTree.

Shannon Ceballos has a diverse educational background. Shannon began their studies at Napa High School from 1997 to 2001. Shannon then attended Napa Valley College from 2001 to 2003, where they earned a Degree in Biology. From 2003 to 2005, they attended University of California, Davis, where they earned a B.S. in Genetics. Shannon continued their studies at University of California, Davis, earning a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Biochemistry, Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology in 2013. In addition, they obtained a certification in The Data Scientist’s Toolbox from Coursera in May 2014, and a 24 Hour HAZWOPER Training for Treatment, Storage and Disposal Facility Workers from Labor Occupational Health Program, UC Berkeley in May 2019.
