Raul Burciaga has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Raul began their career as a Laboratory Assistant at TwinStrand Biosciences in September 2019, where they assisted with various laboratory tasks until March 2021. Raul then transitioned to the role of Research Technician at TwinStrand Biosciences, where they worked from March 2021 to February 2022. In November 2021, they were promoted to the position of Research Technician II, which they held until July 2022. Following this, they served as the Laboratory Manager for Custom Applications at TwinStrand Biosciences from June 2022 to March 2023. Currently, they are working as a Field Application Scientist at TwinStrand Biosciences from February 2023 onwards.
In addition to their time at TwinStrand Biosciences, Raul worked as a Research Assistant at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Seattle from March 2018 to December 2018. During their tenure, they volunteered in the Geriatric Research, Education, and Clinical Center (GRECC), where they focused on studying the mechanisms that lead to cachexia in cancer patients. Raul gained proficiency in navigating the Computer-based patient record system (CPRS) and familiarity with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) in this role.
Before entering the biosciences field, Raul served in the US Army from June 2011 to July 2018. Raul held the position of Pilot in Command, AH-64D, and Maintenance Test Pilot, AH-64D.
Raul Burciaga pursued their education at the University of Washington from 2017 to 2019, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology.
