Mai Miksic

Managing Director, Early Learning & Education at United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey

Mai Miksic has a diverse work experience in the field of early childhood education and policy. They started their career as a Research Assistant at the Institute for Research on Poverty in 2010 and went on to work as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Social Work in 2012. Mai then worked as an Intern at Mathematica Policy Research and as an Adjunct Lecturer at both Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College and Rutgers University School of Social Work in 2013. In 2014, they worked as an Equity Research Fellow at CUNY Institute for Education Policy. From 2016 to 2020, Mai held the position of Senior Research Analyst at the DAY CARE COUNCIL OF NEW YORK INC. They also taught as a Lecturer at Columbia School of Social Work during the same period. Mai's most recent role was as the Director of Early Childhood Education Policy at Children First (formerly PCCY) from 2020 to 2023. They are currently working as the Managing Director of Early Learning & Education at the United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey.

Mai Miksic completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Social Welfare from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in the years 2003 to 2007. Mai then pursued a Master of Social Work (M.S.W.) degree in Policy Practice from Columbia University from 2007 to 2009. Additionally, they also earned a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree in Public Policy Analysis from Columbia University during the same period.
