Matt LaRosa

Matt La Rosa is the Engineering Director and Cofounder of Upward Farms, Matt leads the Agricultural Systems, Commissioning, and Manufacturing Engineering teams that design, prototype, manufacture, deliver, and iterate on Upward Farms’ next generation vertical farming technology, equipment, and systems.

Matt is the human Swiss Army knife who hand built Upward Farms’ early prototypes and facilities. In 2017, Matt accompanied Jason Green on the Forbes 30 Under 30, Social Entrepreneurship list.

Matt’s passions for forests, oceans, and biodiverse ecosystems started with his growing up camping as a Boy Scout, sailing in his native Oyster Bay, and swimming with his extended family in the South Pacific.

Matt received his BS in Construction Management from New York University, Polytechnic School of Engineering.
