Melissa G. Edmondson

Enivronmental Health Officer at USPHS Commissioned Corps

Melissa G. Edmondson is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in public health and environmental health. Currently serving as Deputy Chief of the Risk Evaluation Branch and Industrial Hygienist at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention since August 2012, Melissa has effectively managed the NIOSH Occupational Exposure Banding project and participated in multiple deployments during the CDC Ebola Response Mission. In addition to current roles, Melissa has been an Environmental Health Officer with the Commissioned Corps of the U.S. Public Health Service since January 2014, and previously worked as a Graduate Student Researcher at Harvard School of Public Health, as well as an Industrial Hygiene Intern at Sandia National Laboratories. An accomplished scholar, Melissa holds a PhD in Environmental/Environmental Health Engineering from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, along with several other degrees and certificates in relevant fields.
