Yong Chan Lee

Yong Chan Lee has a diverse and extensive work experience. Yong Chan is currently employed as a Field Application Scientist at Vizgen since March 2023. Prior to this, they worked at HTG Molecular Diagnostics for 6 years, starting as a Field Application Scientist in October 2015 and eventually becoming the Manager of NAM Commercial Scientific Support in November 2021. In this role, they trained and supported customers on the HTG EdgeSeq System, presented materials as a subject matter expert, and provided troubleshooting and experimental design advice.

Before joining HTG Molecular Diagnostics, Lee worked at Thermo Fisher Scientific (Life Technologies) for 8 years. Yong Chan held the position of Scientist III from January 2010 to February 2015, where they managed various projects and successfully transferred multiple new products from R&D to manufacturing operation. Yong Chan also served as a Scientist II from January 2007 to January 2010, contributing to the development and commercialization of real-time PCR and High Resolution Melt products.

Lee's earlier experience includes working as a Graduate Student at UC Davis from September 2000 to December 2006, where they conducted research on cigarette smoke toxicity signaling pathways and dioxin signaling mechanisms. Yong Chan also worked as a Research Assistant at Columbia University Medical Center from June 1999 to August 2000 and as an Undergraduate Student at Stony Brook University from August 1997 to January 1998.

Yong Chan Lee obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Pharmacology and Toxicology from Stony Brook University, where they studied from 1994 to 1998. Yong Chan then pursued further studies at the University of California, Davis, from 2000 to 2006, where they earned a Ph.D. degree in Pharmacology and Toxicology.
