Kisito Gandji

Scientist at WASCAL

Kisito Gandji is a seasoned scientist currently working at WASCAL since November 2022, supporting the DecLaRe project focused on land resilience in West Africa. With extensive experience in research and policy, Kisito has held positions as an Associate Scientist at the Laboratoire de Biomathématiques et d'Estimations Forestières since 2014, and previously as a research officer and project officer at ACED, where contributions included formulating critical research questions on food security and nutrition. Furthermore, Kisito has been involved in various projects related to evidence-based decision making, policy dialogue, and capacity building across multiple organizations, including DagriVest and the African Development Bank Group. Academic qualifications include post-doctorates in climate change and biodiversity, as well as a PhD in agroforestry and quantitative ethnobotany from Université d'Abomey-Calavi, highlighting a strong foundation in natural resource management and environmental science.
