Aidan McGowran

Aidan McGowran has a strong background in technology and architecture, with experience spanning multiple companies. Currently, they are the Director of Enterprise Architecture at Workhuman, where they are responsible for establishing and managing the Enterprise Architecture function. In this role, they lead a team that defines the technology strategy and investment roadmaps to support business goals. Their responsibilities include governance, investment planning, architecture repository management, application portfolio management, technology procurement, and automation and integration strategy.

Prior to joining Workhuman, Aidan worked at Credit Suisse, where they held various roles including Research Operations Strategy Manager and Vice President. In these positions, they were responsible for leading teams and overseeing the development and maintenance of publishing applications. Aidan collaborated with stakeholders to define strategic roadmaps and implemented new systems.

Before their time at Credit Suisse, Aidan worked at Fujitsu as a J2EE Developer, where they designed and developed a unified interface for Telco systems. Aidan also worked at TCS as a Software Engineer and Ericsson as a Java Developer, where they took on projects related to migration and content publishing.

Earlier in their career, Aidan gained experience as a Java Analyst Programmer at Goodbody Stockbrokers, where they contributed to the redesign of the Online Trading system. Aidan also worked as a Junior Developer at Performix Technologies, where they focused on designing and updating call center management software.

Throughout their career, Aidan has utilized various technologies including Java, Spring, SQL, HTML5, AngularJS, J2EE, Spring WS, XSD, JAXB, Quartz, and more. Their work experience demonstrates their expertise in architecture, development, and strategic planning.

Aidan McGowran has a strong educational background in the field of computing and data analytics. Aidan completed their Master of Science (MSc) in Computing with a specialization in Data Analytics from Technological University Dublin. This program was undertaken from 2019 to 2022. Prior to their master's degree, Aidan earned a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Computer Applications from Dublin City University. Aidan studied there from 2001 to 2005, focusing on Computer Science and Software Engineering.

In addition to their formal education, Aidan has obtained various certifications. In 2019, they became an AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate (SAA) through training provided by Amazon. That same year, Aidan also became a Google Cloud Certified Professional Cloud Architect after completing certification courses offered by Google.
