Denis Magda

Denis Magda has a diverse work experience. Denis is currently the Director of Developer Relations at Yugabyte, starting in January 2022. Prior to that, they held various roles at GridGain Systems, starting as a Sun Microsystems Campus Ambassador and Developer Advocate in July 2007. Denis also worked at Oracle as a Senior Software Engineer and Team Lead for Java ME Embedded Porting Team from January 2010 to January 2014. In 2015, they joined The Apache Software Foundation as an ASF Member and eventually became the Vice President of the Apache Ignite PMC. At GridGain Systems, Denis held multiple positions, including Vice President of Product Marketing and Developer Relations, Vice President of Developer Relations, and Director of Product Management. Denis was also the Co-Founder and Product Manager at GeoMe.

Denis Magda holds a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Software Engineering from Blagoveshchensk State Pedagogical University, which they obtained from 2004 to 2009. In 2018, they pursued an Undergraduate Course of Study in Marketing at the College of San Mateo. Additionally, Denis has obtained several certifications, including being a DZone Core Member, passing the YugabyteDB Basics of Distributed SQL Exam, being recognized as an Ignite Project Awareness Top Contributor in 2021 by GridGain Systems, and being an Oracle Certified Professional in Java ME 1 Mobile Application Developer. Denis has also received the Sun Certified Java Programmer certification.
