Harika Damarla has four years of professional experience in the engineering industry. Harika began their career in 2014 as an Upstream Business Analyst Intern at Derrick Petroleum Services. In 2015, they became a Graduate Research Assistant at the Plasma Engineering and Non Equilibrium Processing Laboratory, where they were responsible for hands-on experimental research with focus on hydrocarbon cracking using electron beam technology and electrical discharges, design, control, operation and optimization of various reactors, physical and chemical characterization (rheology and simulated distillation) of crude oil, engineering analysis and statistical studies, and developing P&IDs, standard operating procedures and technical reports. In 2017, they moved to Irwin Research and Development as a Mechanical Design Engineer. Most recently, they have been a Senior Mechanical Engineer at ZAHROF Valves Inc. since 2018.

Harika Damarla obtained a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani in 2014. Harika then went on to pursue a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University, which they completed in 2016. Additionally, they obtained a Master's degree in Chemistry from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani in 2014. In 2015, they were awarded the LabVIEW Certified Associate Developer certification by National Instruments.
