Jacob Ludwig

Jacob Ludwig is a Senior Scientist at AbbVie since January 2021, specializing in research and development within the field of organic chemistry. Previously, Jacob served as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Princeton University from June 2019 to January 2021, conducting research on the synthesis of organometallic complexes under the guidance of Professor Paul J. Chirik and focusing on cobalt-catalyzed cross-coupling reactions. Jacob gained significant experience as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Michigan from June 2014 to May 2019, developing new strategies for catalytic carbonyl–olefin metathesis in the labs of Professor Corinna S. Schindler. The research journey began as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Michigan State University from May 2011 to December 2013, where Jacob synthesized new heterocyclic scaffolds as non-covalent proteasome inhibitors under Professor Jetze J. Tepe. Jacob holds a PhD in Organic Chemistry from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Michigan State University.
