Derek Power

Derek Power began their professional career in 2004 as an Intern at Sun Microsystems. In 2006, they took on the role of Web Developer at the National Centre for Geo-Computation (NCG). In 2007, they were offered a job at Oracle as a Software Engineer. After three years, they moved to Synchronoss Technologies as a Site Reliability Engineering Manager (EMEA). In 2016, they accepted the role of Cloud Operations Manager at Ellucian. In 2017, they became a Senior Site Reliability Engineering Manager and Site Reliability Engineering Manager at Asavie. In 2021, they were appointed Head of Engineering (Cloud Infrastructure) and Site Reliability Engineering Manager at Jimdo. Most recently, in 2023, they became an SRE Manager at Aiven.

Derek Power completed a Higher Diploma in Leadership Development from University College Cork in 2020. From 2001 to 2006, they obtained a B.s.C Hons in Computer Science and Software Engineering from Maynooth University. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Lucan Community College between 1995 and 2001.
