Paul Murphy

Paul Murphy has extensive work experience in engineering and manufacturing roles within the automotive industry. Paul is currently Vice President of Engineering of Electric Engine at Archer, a position they have held since May 2023. Prior to their current role, they served as Senior Director of Electric Engine at Archer from September 2022 to May 2023.

Before joining Archer, Paul worked at Koenigsegg Automotive AB as the Vice President of Product Design Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering from June 2021 to July 2022.

Paul also has a significant history with Tesla, where they held various manufacturing engineer positions. Paul served as a Staff R&D Manufacturing Engineer from January 2020 to June 2021, a Staff Manufacturing Engineer from September 2017 to January 2020, and a Senior Manufacturing Engineer from October 2015 to September 2017.

In addition, Paul worked at Remy International as a Senior Product Design Responsible Engineer from April 2014 to September 2015, and as a Manufacturing Engineer from May 2012 to April 2014. Paul began their career at Bastian Automation Engineering as a Design Engineer from January 2009 to May 2012.

Paul's earliest relevant experience was as a Mechanical Engineer at Light Engineering / Electric Vehicles International from June 2006 to December 2008. Their first professional role was as a CAD Analyst/Intern at SAIC from May 2004 to August 2005.

Paul Murphy attended Murray State University from 2002 to 2006, where they obtained a degree in Engineering Graphics & Design with a field of study in Mechanical Engineering. Paul also holds additional certifications including Project Management Professional (PMP) from Tesla in 2017 and GD&T Training and Lean Six Sigma Green Belt from Purdue University in 2013.
