Rolando Perez

Rolando Perez, PhD, is a scientist currently serving as co-PI in the Department of Biology at Stanford University since September 2023. In addition, Rolando is an Affiliate Research Scientist at the Blue Marble Space Institute of Science leading research on engineered living materials for space exploration. Rolando co-directs science at Open Fung and owns RP Bioconsulting, which provides consulting services in science and engineering. As Chief Science Officer and co-founder of Sincarne, Rolando is involved in innovative applications in various fields. Rolando also contributes to ValleyDAO and HairDAO, focusing on growth and research initiatives. Rolando has previous experience as a Cure Guide at Perlara PBC and was co-founder and CSO at Foray Bio. Educational credentials include a PhD and MS in Bioengineering from Stanford University, a Bachelor's in Bioengineering from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and an Associate's Degree in Physics and Mathematics from Hartnell College.
