Julia Cusick

Julia Cusick has a diverse range of work experience. Julia started their career as an intern at The Carter Center, where they analyzed political developments and organized conferences. Julia then joined the Peace Corps as a Rural Community Development Specialist, where they wrote grants, organized conferences, and provided support to community associations. After that, Julia worked at the U.S. Department of State, where they researched and drafted briefing materials for senior officials. Julia later joined Organizing for America as a Field Organizer, where they exceeded campaign turnout projections and interviewed prospective volunteers. Julia then worked at Protect Your Care/Know Your Care as the Pennsylvania State Lead, organizing press conferences and promoting the Affordable Care Act. Julia continued their healthcare advocacy work at Enroll America as the Pennsylvania Communications Director, generating press coverage and coordinating press interviews. Julia later joined The Ballot Initiative Strategy Center as a Communications Manager, before landing their current role as Vice President, Communications at the Center for American Progress.

Julia Cusick has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Latin American Studies from the University of Pittsburgh. Julia also holds a Master of Arts degree in Latin American Studies, Political Economy, Development, and International Business Diplomacy from Georgetown University.
