David Siegel

Staff Scientist, Computational Biology at Exai Bio

David Siegel has had a long and varied career in the field of computational biology. David began as an undergraduate researcher at the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory in 2003 and the Princeton Plasma Physics Lab in 2004. From 2005 to 2012, they worked as a graduate researcher at UC Berkeley and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and as a graduate instructor at UC Berkeley. In 2012, they became a postdoctoral researcher at Sandia National Laboratories. From 2014 to 2016, they were an adjunct faculty member at California State University, East Bay and Diablo Valley College. Most recently, they have worked as a Computational Geneticist in HIV Host Genetics at UCSF since 2016. David is currently a Staff Scientist in Computational Biology at Exai Bio, starting in 2022.

David Siegel attended Hunter College High School from 1995 to 2001. David then went on to Cornell University, where they earned a BA in Physics and Mathematics in 2005. After that, they pursued a PhD in Physics at the University of California, Berkeley, which they completed in 2012.
