Jan Buis

Jan Buis has extensive work experience in the field of business development and leadership. Jan is currently working at Genexis as the Vice President of Business Development. In this role, they are responsible for initiating and creating future Operational Companies (OpCo's) and supporting other countries/regions in the portfolio. Jan also handles technology lobbying, public affairs, and international analyst and industry relationships.

Prior to Genexis, Jan Buis worked at LANCOM Systems GmbH for several years. Jan held various positions including Vice President of Business Development & Head of "Competence Center Public Sector" and Vice President of Business Development & Corporate Strategy. In these roles, they were responsible for strategic business development, technology lobbying, public affairs, and international analyst relations. Jan also provided leadership to OEM customers and managed strategic alliances and analyst relationships.

Before LANCOM Systems, Jan Buis owned and operated JB Telecom & Data consultancy, an independent ICT consultancy firm. Jan focused on supporting innovative North-American and European ICT start-ups in developing their marketing and sales channels in Europe and Asia-Pacific. Jan also assisted European businesses in developing their product portfolios.

Jan Buis has also worked at companies such as Aruba, KPN, Proxim Wireless Inc., Aino B.V., and Lucent Technologies in various roles related to sales, business development, marketing, and product management.

Jan Buis has a diverse education history. In 2011-2012, they pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a focus on International Master's in Management at Purdue University Daniels School of Business and TIAS School for Business and Society. Prior to that, from 1994 to 1997, they attended Eindhoven University of Technology, earning a MSc/Ir in International Technical Development Science. In 1996, they also obtained a Master of Science (MS) in International Business from Tecnológico de Costa Rica. Jan's undergraduate studies took place from 1990 to 1994 at Windesheim, where they earned a BEng/ing. in Industrial Management.
