Gideon Mwawasi

Gideon Mwawasi currently serves as a Funding Systems Officer at Oxfam, specializing in funding systems and contract compliance since September 2024. Prior to this role, Gideon worked as a Grant Analyst at the Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT, where grant management for a climate action portfolio was a primary focus. From February 2021 to August 2024, Gideon held multiple positions at HIAS, first as a Localisation and Partnership Specialist and then as a Protection Associate, enhancing the rights of urban refugees in Nairobi. Additional experience includes positions as a Project Analyst at UNODC, an Analyst at The Amahoro Coalition, and various roles at KPMG, the British Institute in Eastern Africa, and as a delegate in the Ship for World Youth Program organized by the Cabinet Office of Japan. Gideon holds a Micromasters in Data, Economics and Development Policy from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Nairobi.
