Dr Dylan Barth has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of public health and epidemiology. Dr Dylan is currently serving as a Review Editor at Frontiers in Public Health - Infectious Diseases: Epidemiology and Prevention. Prior to this role, they worked at the Telethon Kids Institute as an Honorary Research Associate and a Postdoctoral Fellow.

Dr Barth also has experience working at the North Metropolitan Health Service as a Senior Epidemiologist in Public Health Operations. Dr Dylan has contributed to the field of research and academia as an Adjunct Research Fellow at The University of Western Australia. Additionally, they served as an Epidemiologist at the Department of Health (WA Health) in their COVID-19 Public Health Emergency Operations Centre and COVID-19 Public Health Response teams.

Earlier in their career, Dr Barth worked as a Junior Research Fellow and a Researcher & PhD candidate at the University of Cape Town. Dr Dylan also had the opportunity to be a part of the UK Newton Doctoral Fellowship at the University of Oxford.

Dr Dylan Barth, NDip BTech MPH PhD has a diverse education history. In 2008, they obtained a National Diploma in Environmental Health from Cape Peninsula University of Technology. Dr Dylan then pursued further education and completed a Bachelor of Technology (BTech) in Environmental Epidemiology and Occupational Health & Safety at Cape Peninsula University of Technology in 2011. Dr Barth continued their academic journey by obtaining a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree in Epidemiology from the University of Cape Town in 2013.

Dr Barth's thirst for knowledge led him to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Medicine at the University of Cape Town, which they successfully completed in 2018. As part of their doctoral studies, they spent time as a PhD Visiting Scholar at the University of Oxford in 2017, focusing on Public Health research. Recently, in 2024, Dr Barth pursued a Master's degree in Health Leadership and Health Management from UNSW.
