Chris Wyre

Chris Wyre has a wealth of experience in the field of biologics. Chris began their professional career in 2009 as a Doctoral Researcher at the University of Birmingham, where they focused on the optimisation of recombinant protein production processes. In 2015, they worked as a Senior Research & Development Scientist at Cobra Biologics, completing a 1-year Innovate UK-funded research project. In 2017, they joined Crescendo Biologics Limited as an Expression Scientist, where they were responsible for production of recombinant protein material in microbial systems, fermentation processes development, generating/reviewing internal documents, and general laboratory maintenance/ordering. In addition, they supervised USP/DSP activities by an international CRO, organised weekly whole-company research meetings, was a Bioinformatics Sub-team member, an eLNB super user for expression/purification teams, and a Principal first aider, Laboratory Health & Safety representative, and Office HR forum representative. In 2020, they moved to AstraZeneca as an Associate Scientist II before returning to Crescendo Biologics Limited in 2021 as a Senior Scientist I.

Chris Wyre completed a BSc (Hons) in Biochemistry with Biotechnology from the University of Birmingham in 2009. Chris then went on to pursue a PhD in Bioprocessing at the same university, which they completed in 2015.
