Daniel Moreno Martínez

Daniel Moreno Martínez, PhD, FHEA has a diverse work experience in healthcare innovation, research, academia, and leadership roles. Daniel currently serves as the Head of the Innovation Unit at Hospital Universitari Germans Trias i Pujol, where they lead the bottom-up innovation management process. Daniel is also the Deputy Director and Principal Investigator at Germans Trias i Pujol Research Institute (IGTP). Additionally, they are an Adjunct Lecturer at Universitat Oberta de Catalunya, where they supervise theses in "Change Management in healthcare settings" as part of the MSc in Digital Health.

Daniel has a passion for promoting innovation and collaboration in the field. Daniel has served as a Non-Executive Director and Global Head of Communication & Operations at the Innovation Forum, a global network that aims to bridge the gap between academia, industry, and policymakers in the biotech, d-Health, clean-tech, and med-tech sectors. Daniel has also been President of Innovation Forum Manchester, focusing on knowledge and leadership exchange in the North West region of the UK.

Daniel Moreno Martínez holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Cardiovascular and Molecular Science from The Manchester Metropolitan University, which they obtained between 2013 and 2017. Daniel also completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education (PGCLTHE) at the same university from 2017 to 2018, specializing in Innovative Teaching and Learning. In 2011, Daniel received a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Translational Medicine from Universitat de Barcelona. Daniel attended the 4th Summer School on Medicines at Université de Montréal in 2012, focusing on Clinical and Industrial Drug Development. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Biotechnology from Universitat de Vic – Universitat Central de Catalunya from 2006 to 2011. In addition to their formal education, Daniel has obtained several certifications, including a Global Health Innovations Specialization, Digital Transformation, Project Management Principles and Practices Specialization, and a certification in Creative Thinking Techniques and Tools, all from Coursera. Daniel is also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, awarded by Advance HE in 2018, and completed a course in Innovation Management through Coursera in the same year.
