Seon-Ah Jin

Seon-Ah Jin has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Most recently, they have been working at Prometheus since 2020, where they have held multiple roles. Seon-Ah started as a Research Engineer in June 2020 and was promoted to Senior Research Engineer in October 2021. In February 2022, they became the Director of Engineering and eventually transitioned to the role of Senior Director of Engineering in September 2022.

Prior to their time at Prometheus, Seon-Ah Jin worked at Oak Ridge National Laboratory from March 2019 to June 2020. As a Fellow Postdoctoral Researcher, they conducted electrocatalyst development for the electrochemical conversion of CO2 to C2~C6 fuel/chemicals electrosynthesis. Seon-Ah also played a key role in developing bimetallic nanoparticles and optimizing the plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition (CVD) process. Seon-Ah worked on quality control, investigated performance correlations, and developed image analysis methods for material optimization.

Before their time at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Seon-Ah Jin was a Graduate Research Assistant at Purdue University from August 2013 to December 2017. Seon-Ah'swork focused on functionalized materials development for biosensing applications, including graphene oxide wrapped silica particles for electrochemical impedance viral RNA sensors and gold nanoparticles decorated PS hybrid materials for immuno-detection of foodborne pathogens.

Seon-Ah Jin also has experience working at Samsung Electronics/Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology as a Staff Research Scientist from February 2008 to July 2013. Additionally, they worked as a Graduate Research Assistant (M.S.) at the Korea Institute of Science and Technology from February 2006 to January 2008.

Seon-Ah Jin received a B.S. in Material Science and Engineering from Kookmin University in the years 2002 to 2006. Seon-Ah then pursued an M.S. in Material Science and Engineering at Seoul National University from 2006 to 2008. Finally, they completed their education by obtaining a Ph.D. in Materials Engineering from Purdue University from 2013 to 2017.
