Arthur Cheng has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies. Arthur'smost recent position is as the Director of People and Culture at Destination NSW, where they oversee the development and implementation of strategies to cultivate a positive work culture. Prior to this, they served as the A/Chief People Officer at the Department of Enterprise, Investment and Trade.

From 2016 to 2022, Arthur held the role of Director of People and Culture at the Health Education and Training Institute (HETI), where they were responsible for developing and implementing a people and culture strategy. Arthur provided strategic business partnering to the Executive Team and focused on attracting, developing, and retaining a high-performing workforce.

Before joining HETI, Arthur worked at IAG, where they held various roles, including Diversity & Inclusion Manager, Performance and Reward Leader, and Performance & Reward Manager. In these positions, they were responsible for driving diversity and inclusion initiatives, implementing performance management solutions, and managing employee benefits programs.

Arthur's earlier experience includes roles at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, where they served as an Organizational Change Manager, Manager of Strategic (HR) Programs, Strategic HR Adviser, and Learning and Organizational Development Professional. These roles involved managing cultural change, talent management, employee engagement, and restructure programs.

Additionally, at the beginning of their career, Arthur worked as an Area Distribution Supervisor at the Federal Publishing Company.

Arthur Cheng completed their education in a variety of fields. In 2008, they obtained a Bachelor of Social Science (Honors 1) in Human Resources Management from the University of New South Wales. Arthur later pursued a Master of Commerce in Management and Organizations at the University of Sydney, which they completed in 2013. In 2019, they earned a Diploma of Project Management from TAFE NSW. Additionally, they obtained a Diploma of Counseling from the Australian Institute of Professional Counselors in 2011 and a Foundations of Directorship Certificate from the Australian Institute of Company Directors in 2018. Arthur also completed a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40110) from the IAG Registered Training Organization in 2012 and took the Design Kit: The Course for Human-Centered Design from +Acumen Courses in 2016. Furthermore, Arthur holds certifications as a Certified Practitioner (CPHR) from the Australian Human Resources Institute Limited, obtained in 2018, and as a Certified Change Management Practitioner from Prosci. Lastly, they are currently enrolled in the Company Directors Course at the Australian Institute of Company Directors, scheduled to be completed in 2023.
