Christian Pedersen Ph. D.

Research Scientist at NIBIO

Christian Pedersen, Ph.D., has extensive experience in research and analysis of biodiversity and climate change. Christian worked as a Research Scientist at the NIBIO Norwegian Institute of Bioeconomy Research from 2015 to present, where they focused on monitoring and analyzing changes in the distribution and abundance of plants and birds in the agricultural landscape. Christian also conducted research in the Arctic, studying the interaction between ungulate herbivory and plant community composition in relation to climate warming.

Prior to this, from 2010 to 2015, Pedersen held a similar position as a Research Scientist at the Norsk Institutt for skog og landskap. Here, they continued to coordinate data collection and analyze changes in plant and bird populations, particularly in relation to land-use and climate change. Christian also conducted research in the Arctic, specifically in arctic Greenland.

From 2006 to 2010, Pedersen served as a Biodiversity Officer at the World Wide Fund for Nature, where they likely focused on conservation efforts and promoting biodiversity conservation.

Pedersen began their research career as a Ph.D. candidate at Penn State University from 2001 to 2007. Christian'sPh.D. research focused on studying the interaction between ungulate herbivory and plant community composition in arctic Greenland.

Christian also worked as a Research Scientist at the Department of Biology, University of Oslo, from 2005 to 2006.

Overall, Pedersen's work experience demonstrates their expertise in biodiversity conservation, climate change, and the impact of ungulate herbivory on plant communities.

Christian Pedersen Ph.D. completed their education in biology at Pennsylvania State University, where they earned a Ph.D. from 2001 to 2007. Prior to this, they pursued a degree in zoology at the University of Oslo (UiO) from 1997 to 2000, obtaining a Cand. Scient. degree.
