We’ve uncovered the ten coolest jobs in tech at some of the world’s most transparent and forward thinking brands. Interested candidates can add their name for consideration in just a few clicks.

Transparency is the future of work. Consumers want more transparency from the brands they buy, applicants want more transparency from the companies they consider, and team members want more transparency from their employers. Secrecy is dead. The world is evolving quickly toward transparency at all levels of business.

A recent study from Sprout Social, which surveyed 1,000 consumers, found that 86% of Americans say transparency from businesses is more important than ever before. Many potential employees feel the same way.

See incredible open jobs at Reddit, Headspace, Airtable, and other transparent and rising companies.

Reddit

Billed as “The Front Page of the Internet”, Reddit has become a cultural mainstay since its founding in 2005. In February 2019, a $300 million funding round led by Tencent brought the company's valuation to $3 billion - a six fold increase in valuation in five years.

Reddit is also a leader in corporate transparency. The company has published an annual transparency report since 2017 to shed light on the delicate balance of free speech and hate that occurs on the platform.

They’re hiring for a Director of Data Science and Analytics. An incredible role when you consider that Reddit is one of the top 20 most visited websites in the world. That’s a lot of data.

Airtable

Thrive, Benchmark, and Coatue all agree that Airtable is a big deal (proven by $100 million in recent funding). The software company is part database and part spreadsheet - a tool that 170,000 companies use to do ‘everything from cattle tracking to filmmaking’. Airtable's mission is to democratize software creation, similar to the way the Macintosh democratized personal computing.

Companies like Netflix, Medium, and Shopify, already rely on Airtable everyday. The marketing team at Airtable is hiring a Principal Product Marketer to own platform go-to-market strategy from the ground up. The role is incredibly cool, Airtable provides all the usual perks, plus you also get a free membership to Equinox.

Headspace

As one might expect, the health and happiness company Headspace is one of the most transparent out there. The company openly values courage, selflessness and curiosity. They also have a fun video about what it’s like to work at Headspace.

Don’t confuse cute with successful though. Headspace secured $100 million in funding this summer on the back of nearly 100 million downloads. They just partnered with musician John Legend and need a new Technology Strategist to help lead global strategy and new ventures for the company focused on human well-being.

Stash

Earlier this year, Stash crossed a major milestone for a financial business: +$1 billion assets under management. This all-in-one personal finance app handles everything from banking to investing in fractional shares of the brands you frequent most. The company was named as one of Built in NYC’s best places to work in 2019 and 2020.

The transparent brand lists everything from company values, to funding, and total number of users on their website (an astonishing five million).

Stash is recruiting for a VP of Engineering to report to CTO Cliff Hazelton. It’s an incredible amount of responsibility at one of New York’s fastest growing brands.

Biobot

Recently featured on the cover of The New Yorker, Bloomberg Businessweek, and on The Daily Show, Biobot’s mission is to transform wastewater infrastructure into public health observatories. The young company started by two women at MIT, uses technology to measure human health in sewage to understand population health in communities around the world.

Biobot’s foundational principle is bringing more transparency to human health. As exemplified by a recent pro-bono campaign to test communities all across the U.S. for COVID-19 and provide the data to our leaders. They’re currently working in over 400 communities across 42 states in the U.S., in addition to numerous other countries on several continents.

The growing team is looking for a Head of Marketing to help bring the mission to life.

Clyde

Fresh off raising $14 million in Series A funding from Spark Capital and the founders of fintech unicorn Plaid, Clyde is exploding as a SAAS company to watch in NYC. Their novel platform empowers any ecommerce company to offer benefits like extended warranties to their customers. With over 150 enterprise customers in just a couple of years they seem destined to do well.

Clyde is pursuing transparency on many fronts. Not least of which is their desire to help consumers with a better and more transparent purchasing and warranty experience.

The company is hiring for a VP of Sales. This is a chance to get in early with a company fresh off a big round, in a space that Shopify shows us has huge potential.

Purple

30 years of technology in the making, Purple definitely deserves a place on this list. The company designs everything from its polymeres to the machines that mold its products. On a mission to prevent and alleviate pain, Purple is one of the fastest growing companies in the often overlooked tech and outdoor mecca of Salt Lake City, Utah.

Purple’s promo video has an astonishing 11 million views and does a great job of highlighting many teams and potential teammates at Purple. The company is looking for a Director of Paid Social to take their quirky brand to the masses.

Truework

Truework is the sexiest unsexy company on this list. The company streamlines verification of employment and income data, information that is necessary for the lending and housing markets to function smoothly. Their competitor? Equifax, which services 75% of the Fortune 500 with antiquated and overpriced software.

Truework is hiring for a Chief of Staff to the CEO. Such highly visible and influential positions are rare, especially at well-funded Sequoia backed startups. Truework’s first Chief of Staff will leave an indelible mark on the company and its culture forever.

ONET Global

Led by two MIT alumni, ONET is an early-stage robotics startup building autonomous boats and ships. In a world with increasing levels of density and congestion, the company envisions a future in which self-driving marine vessels are an integral part of everyday transportation.

Before ONET, its CEO and founder developed underwater drones capable of autonomously communicating and working together to scan the ocean to look for lost planes, or measure oil spills and radiation under the sea.

While still small, the company is open about their vision to steer every ship in the world. They’re looking for a Head of Business Development to sell their vision to stakeholders at all levels of government and to the marine transportation industry.

Handy

Recently acquired by Angie’s List, Handy offers on-demand access to workers who can clean, assemble furniture, mount TVs and perform other tasks around the home. The company is scaling quickly with the resources of its parent brand and the founders need help chasing the $400 billion home services market.

They are recruiting for a Director of Strategy - a unique opportunity to work directly with the co-founders of Handy on some of the most impactful areas of the business. It’s the perfect precursor to starting your own company.
